War Eagle!

I hope that everyone had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! My favorite part of Labor Day weekend is football! This is the opening weekend for most college football games, and Auburn usually plays at home. We start planning our tailgate in the summer and the countdown begins weeks out.
I love Auburn! The four years I spent here (not to mention all the Saturdays I spent here before that) are some of my best memories. My parents met here and I met my husband here. My uncle and my sister also went to Auburn. Things are different here, everyone is nice to each other and we treat each other like one big family. Here are some pictures from Saturday. Sorry that they are so small, I had to take them off of facebook!

Samford Hall
At noon, the bells play the fight song!

Me with my hubby! Please excuse the plastic orange fence, apparently they are building a giant building right next to our tailgate!

One of my best friends, Lauren. While she didn't go to Auburn, she is a huge fan and she and her husband have season tickets every year. That is just what Auburn does to people!

My family! We love spending almost every Saturday in the fall together in one of our favorite places in the world!

I'll probably be posting more pictures throughout the season. Wait till you see pictures of our tailgate! We have 4 giant tents, we line the ground with astro-turf, we bring a 55" plasma tv to watch all of the days games off of the satellite, and the food is always amazing!

In other news, today is September 7! Do you know what that means? True Prep comes out today! I pre-ordered mine from Amazon and expect it to be at my door when I get home this afternoon! I can't wait to go home and pour a glass of wine before settling in to start reading! I can't wait to get started and see what other people have to say about it tommorow!

Have a great short week and I look forward to seeing you back here tomorrow! Happy Reading!

Pink and Green Thursday!

In honor of Pink and Green Thursday, I want to share some of my favorites from the Fall Lilly Pulitzer collection. I have a 20% off coupon for Belk this weekend and I'm hoping to get my hands on at least one of these beauties!
Next weekend is the Patron Party for the Junior League of Atlanta Ball. Basically it is a cocktail party at a really nice home in Atlanta for all the people who have paid top dollar for the Ball in November and they give out awesome goody bags filled with swag. I want to try this dress on and see what the material is to see if this would be a great cocktail dress for the party! It makes a statement, but it is a simple shape and the sleeve makes it perfect for a September party.

Summer is my favorite time of the year. I hate the onset of fall because it means that winter is close behind. However, I think I could brave the cold (it usually drops down to the 40s and sometimes 30s on really cold days) if I had this sweater. Fortunately it is still in the 90s around here, so this purchase might have to wait. Maybe it will even go on sale before I need it! I love that the model is wearing flats with bare feet. My husband is originally from Ohio (luckily he doesn't ever want to go back!), and when we visit for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I never wear the "right clothes." Last year we met some of our friends at a bar and one of the guys noticed I wasn't wearing socks. Apparently northern girls wear socks during the winter? The only socks I own are for wearing with tennis shoes. They still tease me about it.

Oh, how I adore my strapless dresses. I believe that they can be worn year round with a cardigan. I guess that's the southern in me! Did I mention I hate winter clothes?

This is just such a great dress for fall! It is still bright and fun, but the sleeve makes it feel fall. It is perfect for our falls that last until November!

What are your favorites?

Shannon

Blog Friends!

I want to introduce you to some of my friends from the blogosphere! I am fairly new to the whole blogging world, but these ladies have been so welcoming and I feel that I can call them my friends!

First off is Carly from College Prep. This was my big leap into the blog world and Carly hosted my first giveaway! She is a college student at Georgetown and I love living vicariously through her posts. She is absolutely adorable. I wish I was still in college...

Next up is Julie from Brown Eyed Belle. I first met Julie through the giveaway Carly hosted on her blog. Julie purchased some address labels and is now a regular customer with The Preppy Ladybug! She is from Virginia and is a doll! Her blog is beautiful and it is always inspiring. This is my favorite quote from today's post. It describes my sister to a T!
I also love Lori over at Shopaholic in Alabama. It's too bad that she is a Bama fan, but she lives in South Alabama, which I absolutely love, so I won't hold it against her. Lori hosted my second giveaway in the blogosphere. She posts mostly about her super fun life, and I love to dream I live at the beach and am a SAHW and shop all the time! Here is a picture that she posted from her birthday party this past weekend. Do the cupcake toppers look familiar?

And the notecards I sent her for her birthday after she mentioned on her blog that the coral notecards were her favorite!

Last, but certainly not least, my newest friend, Faith, of Please and Thank You. Faith and I met when she ordered some notecards from my shop. She just can't stay away and because of that we have started emailing and becoming friends! Faith has an adorable shop where she sells hats and scarves that she knits herself. I can't wait to buy one for a baby one day, and I might just have to have a scarf for myself this winter! How stinkin' cute is this little pig hat?

And who could resist this picture of a baby in a big bow hat?

Did I mention she makes hats and scarves for adults? I love this picture!

Of course, these aren't the only blogs I read on a daily basis, these are just a couple of my favorites that I know the owners of. I am trying to get on a schedule for my blog and post more regularly, so I think Tuesdays will be known as Blog Tuesday. I will highlight one of my daily reads each week. Check back tomorrow to see what Wednesday's posts will be!

Hugs and Kisses!

Mail Call!

I have loved my mailman this week! I have received such wonderful goodies in the mail this week!

First, I got my long-awaited Lilly Pulitzer iPhone cover! I ordered it back in June during the pre-sale on PreppyPrincess.com. I got the white zin pattern. It is really cute, but I'm a little disappointed that it covers the top button and the volume buttons on the side. My last cover had grooves and the plastic was thinner over the buttons. It's taking a bit of getting used to, but I absolutely love it!

Then, I received these adorable calling cards that I designed for a customer and had printed professionally. My customer is on the Junior League of Atlanta Cookbook Committee that I chair and she is such a doll. I know that her little ones will love these!

Last, the mailman brought some decadent foot butter from Trinity Soap Company. I went to a new nail salon last week and after a wonderful pedicure, the technician rubbed this amazing foot butter on my feet. I thought I was in heaven! He showed me the tub it came in and when I saw Trinity Soap, I thought it looked familiar and went home to search Etsy. Sure enough, I found Trinity Soap's shop and ordered my own Foot Butter in Vanilla Mint! I also ordered the Ginger Body Soak and Peppermint Foot Butter for my friend's birthday and I'm waiting to hear what she thinks of it!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend and I will be back on Monday!

We are leaving for the Florida Keys in about 2 hours from now! We rented a house on Big Pine Key for the week and hubby and I are bringing 4 of our friends, including my sister. Lobster Mini-Season starts on Wednesday. The waters are open to the public for catching lobster 2 days before commercial fishing boats are allowed. Key lobsters don't have claws and you snorkel to find them. Each person is allowed 6 lobsters per day. I can't wait to bring some lobster home!

Here is a picture from New Year's at Bahia Honda Beach in the Keys. I can't wait to get back there!

Lilly Stationery Goes Paperless!

If you know me, you know that I love anything Lilly Pulitzer. Lilly makes me happy. No matter what, I can put on a Lilly dress and feel like a million bucks. I love everything she makes, including her stationery. And now she has gone paperless! That's right! Now you can send invitations to your soirées via the internet on Lilly stationery! While I am an advocate of old-fashioned snail mail, I can also be a procrastinator, and I love my instant e-vites when I run out of time to send a tangible invitation.

You can find the stationery on Cocodot, an e-card store. Cocodot offers a yearly subscription for sending cards for only $29! They are running a special right now and you can upgrade to a card and invitation subscription for only $49! You can also order a la carte.

While this is fantastic news, please, please, please, whatever you do, DO NOT send wedding invitations via email as the website suggests. I shouldn't have to explain it, this is Tacky. A bridal shower...maybe. A wedding...absolutely not!

Go check it out! http://cocodot.com/lilly_pulitzer

I love Lined Envelopes!

And I love my newest collection of notecards with lined envelopes! Even though you might have really cute cards, or have perfected the art of the handwritten letter, lined envelopes always add that extra little oomph that makes your notes stand out above the rest. There just isn't anything quite like opening an envelope and seeing that burst of pattern before even pulling out the card to see what the sender has to say.

With that being said, I introduce my collections! There are 4 total and within each set, you can customize with 1, 2, 3 or all 4 of your favorite patterns to be divided among 12 notecards and envelopes! They will be available for purchase on Etsy later today!

All of the collections tied up and ready to go!

Coral Me Pink in Diamond, Floral, Stripe and Damask

Orange You Delighted in Diamond, Damask, Floral and Stripe

Green Retreat in Floral, Damask, Stripe and Diamond

Tickled Pink and Green in Diamond, Damask, Floral and Stripe

I did it!

I am so excited because this morning I filed for my LLC! I am going to be a legal business!

I feel like I am finally on the right road to success. The other thing I have to do is meet with my friend, Josh, who will be doing my website. Once that is set up, people will be able to quickly access my shop, my blog, my facebook page and learn more about me from a central location.

Please check in often as I chronicle my business and my life as a business owner!
